Masc | Paris exhibition | Day 1

Paris day 1

Full of anticipation, we arrived at Galerie Odile Ouizeman with our SS12 collection in tow. Nestled behind the Musee Picasso in the heart of the Marais, the two floor exhibition features fifteen handpicked young designers. With blazing sunshine and an optimistic atmosphere the showroom is in the ideal setting.

Selecting a position in the cool arched space of the building’s underground cave, we set-up the collection in readiness for our debut at Paris Fashion Week.

Once complete the range perfectly matched the earth earth tone walls, with the addition of spotlights highlighting the ‘wing-shape’ panels in the collection. Ready for five days receiving press and buyers from the continent and beyond, the MASC team are looking forward to another successful fashion week.

Masc | Paris exhibition invite

Paris fashion

This week the MASC team will decamp to Paris to exhibit as part of Paris Fashion Week. After receiving such a strong reaction in London it seemed only right to reveal our debut collection across the channel to our French counterparts.

Located in the heart of the Marais, close to the Picasso Museum, the Vauxhall Fashion Scout Showcase is an initiative that promotes both UK and international leading talent. Featuring 18 carefully selected designers, the exhibition offers a welcoming space just moments away from the ‘London Showrooms’, Hussein Chalayan and Capsule.

Please see the above image for details and for entry please contact the team through contact@behindthemasc.com. Updates from Paris Fashion Week will be available through this journal and our Facebook page.

Masc | Vauxhall Fashion Scout | Day 5

Day 5

The final day of the MASC exhibition at London Fashion Week. After four busy days we entered day 5 with a key visit from the friendly team at ‘Young British Designers’ who were impressed by the collection and lookbook. Following this a we greeted our guests and continued to spread the word about our debut.

The five day show had been a great success for MASC, the Vauxhall Fashion Scout team were genuine, friendly and professional, providing an extremely high calibre of attendees. A special Thank you yo Martyn Roberts, Charlotte Gunstone, Charis Cooper, Kinga Kovacs and the assistants who made the event so perfect.

Thank you to all those who attended, we are now firmly established as a key contender in the industry and plan to grow in the seasons to come.

A special thank you to the support of the MASC team, you know who your are. The other half of MASC, Billy Yick has been working abroad for the duration of the show, it must be said that she has been missed and everyone at MASC is looking forward to her speedy return.

Masc | Vauxhall Fashion Scout | Day 4

Day 4

Day 4 at the Vauxhall Fashion Scout and the team arrived early, the photo above shows the Prince Regent’s Hall before the arrival of the thronging crowds. The floor to ceiling windows, 20 foot high ceilings and parquet floor provide the ideal setting for our debut collection.

Bathed in natural light from the original windows and from mounted spotlights the collection looked impressive both from a distance and up close. This season’s high-gloss black acrylic jewellery glinted in the light and the solid chrome plated studs on our slimline belts shined against the supple leather.

With South African shows taking place in the building the visitors we received numbered ambassadors, international buyers and foreign press.

The SS12 film (viewable on our home page at www.behindthemasc.com) created quite a stir, being shot on the stormy East coast of England the dramatic footage drew crowds that then browsed the collection. A big thank you to Lizzie Daniell who served the inquisitive groups with information and pointed our leather detailing, wing-shape volume and key pieces with excellent finesse.

Another positive day enjoyed by all the team, we are now gearing up for our final day of exhibiting tomorrow.
